The government of Shizuoka provided financial assistance to help educate care workers from abroad to promote international communication. Seirei Social Welfare Community selected the textbook to educate the care workers from abroad.

英語版教材の発刊について

介護現場で働く外国人にとっての大きな目標は、日本の介護福祉士国家試験の合格です。しかし、受験対策の参考書は、専門用語や難しい漢字が非常に多く、日本語の学習段階にある外国人が、内容を理解するには非常に時間がかかります。
そこで、介護福祉士国家試験対策の入門的な参考書の英語版を作成することにより、介護福祉士資格取得の基礎学習を、より効率的に行えるようにしたいと考え、本誌を発刊しました。EPA による外国人介護福祉士候補者を受け入れている施設、在日の外国人介護職員を受け入れている施設等でご活用ください。
本誌は、日本語版の著者である「介護福祉士資格取得支援研究会」、発行所である「株式会社　技術評論社」が、上記趣旨に賛同くださり、英語版の発刊に許諾をいただけたことにより、発刊が可能となりました。本紙を借りて感謝申し上げます。

About the Publication of This Textbook

A major objective for non-Japanese working at nursing care sites is to pass the national examinations for Japanese care workers. Training for EPA nursing care workers is especially rigorous, and candidates must work at a facility for more than three years before obtaining an opportunity to take the exams. Preparatory text books are packed with specialist terminology and difficult Japanese characters, and it is very time-consuming for non-Japanese who are still studying the language to grasp their contents. We have responded to this situation by publishing an English version of an entry-level preparatory book for the national exam. With this version, we hope to communicate more effectively the basic learning required to obtain care worker qualifications. This English version has become possible thanks to the consent of the Society to Support the Acquisition of Care Worker Qualifications, which authored the Japanese version, and the publisher Gijutsu-Hyohron Co., Ltd. We greatly appreciate their cooperation.
